UCSF Finalist
I didn't tell y'all before, but I am a finalist in the UCSF MEPN admissions process. This means that the like me enough on paper to ask me to come down for an interview. I'll be flying down this Thursday, the 13th. Interview Day starts Friday morning at some quite early time, and consists of a number of information sessions, a 45 minute long interview during which I will talk about why I want to get out of software and into nursing, and another 45 minute long interview about whether I have what it takes to survive the Critical Care / Trauma path during the Masters portion.
Am I nervous? Yes. Of course. I've chatted with a few other finalists, and we're all in the same boat: we'll study a bit, think a bit, and then relax.
Saturday morning, the current crop of MEPN students will be hosting a reception brunch for us, which is a terrific opportunity to get the inside track.
Here's my plan, so both of you who read this ill-maintained blog take note: When I get into nursing school I'll be setting up a blog that has next to no personal information on it, so I can tell you all the juicy stories of a nursing student in over his head. Please email me suggestions for the name of this blog-to-be.
